Artistic Director - Peter Joucla

Peter Joucla founded Tour De Force Theatre in 1996. He has since directed a variety of English and French language touring theatre, including The Ghosts of Poe, The Importance of Being Earnest, Pygmalion, Lacombe Lucien, 1984, An Inspector Calls and Jungle Book. Together with the American Drama Group, this work has toured extensively across Europe and as far a field as Japan. He worked as a teacher and lecturer in colleges in England and Holland before moving full time into theatre. He was Musical Director for their production of L’Amfiparnaso for Trestle Theatre Company and more recently for a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Northampton Theatre Royal. He has directed a wide number of productions, for adults and young people and for the Edinburgh Festival. In addition to theatre, Peter writes plays for young people. His book Absurd, Black and Comic Sketches was published in 1991. He studied Performing Arts in London. |

Madeleine Bower has appeared in a variety of theatre and TV work, and has worked with Tour De Force for 8 years. Previous theatre includes Death and the Ploughman at the Gate Theatre, The Garden of Delights at the National Theatre Outdoor season, Moby Dick with Kaboodle/Walk the Plank, On the Boil at the Prithvi Bombay, The Breakfast Soldiers at Contact Theatre Manchester, Twelfth Night at the Bridewell, Our Day Out at the Sheffield Crucible, Scheherazade for Forest Forge, The Woman Who Swallowed A Pin at Hammerton Hall and Pygmalion with Tour de Force.
Television includes: Emmerdale, Harry & Cosh and Primal. Film Includes: People Like Other People, Amen ICA Cinema.

Administrator – Stamatina Papamichali
|
|
Stamatina studied acting in Veaki School in Athens (1998-2001). She also holds a BA in French Language and Literature from the University of Athens. Before moving to London in 2004, she spent 2 years in Paris studying for a MA in Performance Studies at the University Paris VIII – St Denis. Her dissertation was mainly examining the work of Théâtre du Soleil.
As an actor she has worked on several shows and films in London, Paris and Athens. She has also worked with dancers on two physical shows (Toisallou & Cats on the roof) that she performed and co-directed. She speaks fluently Greek, Polish, French and English. Stamatina has been working as Tour de Force’s Administrator since May 2006.

The American Drama Group

ADG was formed by Ohio native Grantly Marshall in 1978 in the city of Munich. It was linked in the beginning to the University where the first performances were held. It expanded quickly to other theatres in Munich and also began to give guest performances in other German cities. The expansion was continued to include many countries in Europe and Asia. The goal of the American Drama Group Europe as a foreign language organisation is to perform in as many counties in the world as possible.
