Was there ever a more theatrical novel than Oliver Twist? Charles Dickens' early masterpiece has gone down in literary history as the first novel about the poor and criminal in western literature. Paul Stebbings and Phil Smith dramatise the novel and Thomas Johnson provides a stunning a capella score. The production goes for the dark heart of the novel and asks the ever pertinent question: are poverty and crime linked? Last season saw its spectacular success in China which paved the way for the current regular tours to the world's most populated country. This season sees our new production tour Europe and Asia, returning to China for an epic tour in the Spring of 2009. Thursday 9th October 8pm: Cockpit Theatre, Gateforth St, London NW8 8EH.
